“Don’t worry everything will soon come back. Surely you remember your brothers right?”
“I don’t remember this place at all. Last time I checked I never had brothers. I must be going insane!”
“My child, I must ask you to use your native tongue. Not this mortal speech of yours.”
“I don’t remember my native language. As far as I’m concerned I am speaking it.”
“Child, there is still much for you to learn.” she said and sighed.
She took my hand and walked me towards the castle. It had amazing crystal windows tinted with purple.The doors were a dark blue and the ceiling was amazingly clear. She pushed me towards a room smiling. I looked at her as she opened it to reveal 6 boys. I looked at her confused. ‘I swore she said 7 brothers.’ I thought. She looked at me and took me to what looked like the oldest of the boys.
“This is Aiden your second oldest brother.”
“I am overjoyed to see your beguiling face brother.” he said.
‘Who’s the first oldest? Surely, he’s here. Right?’ I thought.
“This is your third brother Ezekiel.” she said moving down the line.
“Your smiling face is all I need to brighten my day.” he said.
“This is your fourth brother Abraham.”
“Pleasure to see you once again dear boy.” he said.
“Kingston is your fifth brother and Klein is your sixth. These two are twins actually.” she said matter-of-factly.
“What a joy to-”
“See you again!” Klein interrupted Kingston.
“Lastly, this is your seventh brother Zane.” she said smiling.
Zane didn’t say anything. Confused, I looked at the queen who looked very awkward. I opened my mouth to say something then decided against it. I waited for the queen to leave then looked at my six brothers.
“Where’s the eldest brother?” I asked them.
“Do you mean Angelo?” Abraham asked.
“Uh...yeah.”
“No one speaks of his name because he has betrayed this place with treachery. He even tried to lie his way out. Have you met with the Duchess Victoria. She has been awaiting your arrival and even went so far as to go into the mortal realm and find you.”
“I didn’t see Victoria but I met an amazing girl named Vivian. The queen took her back apparently.”
“Vivian? Oh! She must not have told you. Victoria is Vivian.”
“So wait! What did Angelo do to be gone like this?”
“He tricked you into going into water and traveling between galaxies.”
For some reason this is something I don’t believe. I could see Zane doing that because he seems rude and doesn’t want to talk to me. But I don’t think Angelo would. Zane walked out and slammed the door. I looked at him confused.
“I take it me and Zane weren’t friends.” I said.
“On the contrary Cea! You were great friends with him. You spent many years together.” Klein said.
I totally doubt that. He seems like he hates that I’m back. If there’s one thing I love it’s a good mystery.
“He doesn’t seem too happy that I’m back.” I said.
“Do not worry. He’s just overjoyed with shock.” Ezekiel said.
“If you say so.”
“I did say it…” he said confused.
“It’s an expression.”
“What is the meaning of that word?”
“It means saying something that conveys an idea.”
“Hm...your speech is off my brother…”
“If anything your speech is the weirdest ever. This is how we human beings talk on Earth. I don’t belong on Corzza and I never will!” I yelled and ran out.
Ignoring their protests I ran outside to where the Queen brought me in. The bridge was worn out and some stones were missing, some were torn off chunk by chunk. This bridge wasn’t safe. Holes were everywhere. It was almost as if somebody actually took dynamite to the bridge. I sighed. ‘This is impossible. I can’t belong to this place. I want to go back home. They said something about how I could travel the galaxies by stepping into water. Can I do that?’ I thought. Who am I kidding? I hate water! I can’t stand stepping in it. If I ever want to get back home I have to try. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see Klein running towards me.
“Brother wait!” he yelled.
“What do you want now?” I asked annoyed.
“I thought you would like to better acquaintance yourself with the Duchess Victoria.”
It was then that I saw Vivian. Her beauty was still overwhelming. Except, in this light her beauty was even more excruciating in the light of the 3 suns hanging above us. I smiled when I saw her and ran to her scooping her into my arms.
